I’m leaving on my trip one week from today! And today is pretty much over, so the party starts in less than a week. Yikes!
There are a few things I need to do before I go…
1. Buy a flashlight. I’ve decided I might need one. You know, in case I want to read in bed at night. This is seriously something I’ve put some thought into.
2. I need to finish a painting I started for my friends Sean and Beryl. Also, I need to decide if I’m bringing it with me (to drop off in Massechuettes) or if I’ll just leave it here for them to pick up form my folks in July. I’ll decide that later.
3. I deperately need to clean up the guest room at good ol’ 314. It’s been my bedroom for the last few months, but I really ought to get it looking good in case the ‘rents want to entertain some actual guests this summer.
4. Hostess gifts. I need to pick up some trinkets for the good folks who put me up along the way. My mom’s friends are forever bringing her candles and recipe cards. What’s the cool young version of a hostess gift? I could just have five pounds of gummi bears shipped to every house I leave… considering it…
5. I do need to pack. That’s why I put that photo of my supa’ cute shoes up there. How many shoes does a girl need to bring on a cross country romp? Hmm, the packing list has yet to be solidified. Mostly, a lot of chargers ought not to be forgotten.
6. Trick out my online tracking mechanisms. Twitter? check. Foursquare updates? Look down and the bottom of the page, in the middle there. I’ve set up a new flickr. My old one was full… I’ve got this blog mostly rollin’. So, the only real to-do is the fourth mystery square at laurelkate.com. It’s a project I’m super pumped about, but kind of scared to get rolling. I’ve got 6 days before I take off… I’d better get on that.

i have an awesome packing list you should reference
I feel like Hostess cupcakes would be good gifts for hostesses.
P.S. I just visited the fourth square of LK.com…sheesh, you started high school in 1999? I remember I was the last 6th grade class of that millennium (that is, that was entirely in the 1990s).
P.S. Now that I am here and you are not, you can send me gummi bears as a good-bye present.
