Well, I’m headed up to Portland today (like, right now! I’m sitting in “the apple peddler restaurant.” No wifi, so I’ll publish this later).
But this post is not about Oregon, or the number of times that I have sung “All I Want” by Joni Mitchell, at the top of my lungs in the car by myself today… It’s about that beautiful town by the bay that I just left: San Francisco, the most colorful city in the world.
I had the grandest time!
First off, I stayed with Brain and Ani, in Oakland, and I have already decided to dedicate an entire post to Ani’s cooking (it’s magical… so stay tuned). On friday we spent a good chunk of the day at the lovely house they are in the middle of buying in the Sunset neighborhood of San Francisco. If you’d like to see more photos than you’re probably interested in seeing of the house (that I took for Mom-o’s sake) czech ‘em out here: this is the link of destiny.
Second off, I went into Photojojo World Headquarters to work for a couple of days. Photojojo is only the raddest website, that I’m so lucky to work for! And hanging out at the office is just triple fun! The photojojo folks are just a blast to hang around (and know all the best lunch spots in the mission. sandwiches! falafel)! The mission is a great neighborhood, so the BART ride + walk through the mission into the office is a joy. Oh, and thursday is Lady Gaga day at PJJ HQ (well, is was this week, anyway). Plus there’s wacky photography gear to play with at that place, and candy!
Another, little highlight of my time in sf (pronounced s’ph), was a li’l face time with my bro, Aaron, and his boo, J-skillet. I mean… Jessica. I heard they were leaving for a month long trip on Friday, so I invited myself over on Thursday night! I offered to sit on Aaron’s suitcase while he zipped it, but it turns out AA and J-dawg are expert packers… so no luggage mashing was necessary. It was fun to chat, and hear all their plans for their month in Spain and Portugal. Luckies!
Well, San Francisco was grand… now I’ve finished my breakfast-food dinner at The Apple Peddler (I went with apple butter for my toast, to be in to the spirit of things), and it’s on to Portland. Bridgetown, USA. (but first a post about Ani’s cooking, tasty).

I’m glad you’re having fun so far! Love the moldings and the parquay floors in the house.
